Is Mitch Trubisky A Bust?

NO.

Be disappointed that Mitch has made mistakes (2 costly INT's that sealed losses) but don't call him a bust or say he's going to have a worse career than Deshaun Watson because of four games. The sample size is too small. Mitch isn't forcing throws early in games and that has given the Bears a chance to win all four of his starts. You simply cannot evaluate a QB over that amount of time and say he is going to be a below average pro OR a Hall of Famer. Expectations should have been low to begin with for Mitch considering how far behind in development (reading defenses in actual games and not on tape) he is compared to Watson. Lower expectations and let Mitch learn. The fourth quarter TD drive against the Saints on Sunday just shows how far he has come in four weeks. You don't get a seat next to Ryan Leaf after four games and you sure as shit don't get a bust in Canton after seven games (Watson).

Losing Zach Miller to a horrific injury doesn't help the passing situation for the Bears and I don't see it getting better before the trade deadline today at 3pm. It is likely too expensive to trade for one of Jarvis Landry, T.Y. Hilton, or Martavis Bryant, so I expect Pace to sit out this one. The Bears will likely have to address that need in free agency (bring back Alshon?) or the draft and hope that Dontrelle Inman can be a nice target for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Next up is the BYE week and a home meeting on November 12th with a decimated Green Bay Packers team that is very beatable. The question we need to ask ourselves is, do we want the Bears to win 4/8 or 5/8 and finish 7-9/8-8?
